MP4 playback

I downloaded Harry_Potter_und_die_Kammer_des_Schreckens. It came as an MP4 file. Realplayer opens but shows the file as 0 seconds long. Windows Media Player does not seem to understand mp4 format at all. How can I play back this movie?

MP4 -> Quicktime movie -> Quicktime Player.

VLC does also play the files very well.

VLC works, I will try the other as the playback is very grainy.

mp4-Format recordings are intended for playback with iPod, Mobile phones etc. so the size of the video is only 160x120. avi and wmv files have a higher resolution.
